You and I have different perceptions of "forbid" and "obey" in the context of a healthy marriage.
I don't forbid my wife to do things, I have no need to; I know she has my back. Forbidding her would mean a lack of trust in her. Pretty much the same with "obey", I don't expect her to obey me. I want her to please me because she wants to, not because she has to. For me, it comes down to free will, I want her to choose me, not have to follow some "forbidden" rules or sets of "obeys".
