Work is driving me crazy with stress. Thanks for asking. Some random updates:

1) The big work project that "failed" in July finally got restarted in September. We are lucky we get a second shot at it. And it's almost complete, it'll go about four more weeks. One of the key elements is on my desk, and I need to finish it today (Saturday).

2) I'm rewarding myself (for the completion today) with a trip to Cabo San Lucas with my buddy Mr. E. SW was originally against it (she knows he can be a real dog with women) and also because she wasn't able to get her usual early-December NYC trip planned this year, so a bit of jealousy. But the couples therapist (yesterday) heard SW's position, and replied that she should support my going away with a buddy, that it's healthy and that I will certainly return as a more refreshed and loving husband. Unexpected but appreciated. It'll be a "working" trip in that I'm not telling anyone from my company that I'm away from my desk. I suppose this remains one of the benefits of working remotely.

3) I will take some time while in Cabo to post some updates. I go early Sunday morning and return on Wednesday.

4) SW has requested the return of security camera(s) in our home. I told her I likely won't be able to get to this until after my return from Cabo. But I've been kicking around the idea of installing at least one of them today. Of course, part of me hopes SW will take the time while I'm away and start something naughty.

Definitely install the camera, definitely do not draw any attention to it. Just leave it unmentioned and see what happens. Cabo was a fun getaway. I did end up working much of the time, but it was nonetheless reinvigorating. I brought home some new Extra Anejo tequila. Tried it last night with a buddy, and it was very nice.

I didn't end up doing any cameras. I'm going all in for trust and communication, with SW.

SW has been very distracted by life; new puppy, her niece recently engaged to be married, and her mother with a medical challenge. Also Mr. G (her private trainer) is traveling internationally for the next few weeks.

She leaves on Wednesday for almost a week. Headed back to her hometown to assist with her mother (broken wrist situation). Perhaps she'll run into one of her guys, either Mr. S or Mr. M? Thanks. I'm more low key than any of that. I avoid the spotlight, preferring to "top from the bottom" as we say.

Not a natural salesman but am generally able to find consensus in difficult situations, which also lends itself to getting difficult deals negotiated and, in most cases, agreed.

And I agree. I must have something "extra" to be able to pull SW as my wife. Not really sure what that may be, but not complaining.

We've gotten close to a new couple over the past year, kind of a new couple in the "friends" group (really, it's now just my friends because SW has withdrawn from the girls' section). This couple is different, in that the woman (let's call her Ms. F) moved her from Florida to be with the guy, and both of them immediately saw what was happening with the "mean girls" of the group playing their jealous games against SW, and made a point to get close to us and to say close to us.

We had traveled to Chicago with this couple, making a long weekend just last month in early November, to attend the opulent wedding reception party of Ms. V (the Ms. V from our storyline).

Anyway, SW is going to Florida soon, with Ms. F, for a week. I noted that in an earlier posting.

I'm leading up to a point. Ms. F's boyfriend, the one she moved from Florida to be with about 18 months ago (they've been living together and serious discussions of marriage, etc.) had an undiagnosed infection in his gall bladder that suddenly blossomed over the Thanksgiving weekend. He truly believed it was just pain associated with a hip condition, and therefore resisted treatment while they were in the Midwest with his family for Thanksgiving. He finally relented to flying home early that Sunday to see his preferred medical provider. By the time the flight landed, they realized it was really an emergency. They took him to the hospital, he was admitted and tested, and by the time they had the diagnosis it had already progressed to a sepsis situation and his organs began failing. He was gone within 18 hours of the diagnosis.

I've been very swallowed up by the aftermath, the service, etc. SW was here for Ms. F and got her ready (styled) for the funeral service, but did not attend, because she had no time for herself to shower, hair, etc. I represented. SW departed early the next morning for her week in her hometown, and was shell shocked during the duration of her trip that was for her to attend to her mother.

So I surmise there was no hotwife energy present.

And we are still shaken by the suddenness of it all, and are trying to help Ms. F to handle it and to manage her life.

Yes, just when you least expect it, life throws a shitball at you, and usually when you don't have your catcher's mitt at the ready.
