There are lots of theories posted here and on other web sites. My gut feeling is that we males enjoy participating in multiple partner sex with females. Probably has roots in our primate origins. The fact that she is a girlfriend or wife magnifies the effect. We are drawn to seeing women being ravished.

I think cuckolding as defined by a desire to be submissive, humiliated (chastity), feminized (creampie eating, pegging, fluffing), and sissified is a form of autogynephilia.

None of that applies to me, though. To me, sharing my submissive wife serves a few purposes:

1. I'm in charge of her pleasure and can thrill her by sharing her as I choose
2. She's my sexual toy and I enjoy watching her be used
3. She's such a beautiful, attractive, sexy woman that I like to show her off; look how good I have it!

One of my pet theories for explaining at least some species of cuckholds is to posit compersion as a mechanism for libidinizing the primal fear of maternal abandonment that some men carry into adulthood and transfer onto their wives. From the our time of utter dependency on our mothers we develop a corresponding horror at the prospect of abandonment. So carried forward into an adult marital relationship, a husband's fear of his wife's infidelity with another male can turn him into an oppressive and possessive boor, turning his worst nightmare into a self-fulfilling prophecy, or he can flip that fear into sexual pleasure, whereby he becomes highly aroused by her infidelity played out in the open of a controlled environment. The analogy most apt for this phenomenon comes from aviation and flight dynamics - as you nose the plane up and climb to the top of the power arc, the plane stalls and then falls from the sky. The skilled pilot then noses the plane into the fall, which restores lift beneath the wings and control to the aircraft. Similarly, the wife who's itching for diverse sexuality is the plane in stall mode - take her into a nose dive to regain control. It's counterintuitive, but it works like a charm. Fly those friendly skies!
