It seems like you should have talked about this before the vacation or just earlier. If you can go out of the room on your own almost all the time he can go out once in a while as well. It could be a downer, but you could do a little schedule. Even if you would decide to let him have her almost all the time I think there should be a specific time every day for just you - the married couple.
