We use the terms BF, or in some cases "lover." To us it seems like the term "bull" was generated by those selling or otherwise hyping porn. Let's face it, "cuckold" and "BBC" obsessions drive huge revenue in the porn business. "Bulls" are used for a very specific purpose on the farm, as my wife pointed out to me.....

Since my wife usually only fucks her poly boyfriend - we just say "boyfriend". There are a couple of other guys she fucks occasionally and we think of them as fwb's. If we were ever to get more into the hotwife lifestyle (mostly poly now), we would prefer the term "stud" over "bull". We both find the term "bull" somewhat distasteful.

I can't help but chime in on these word games. The animal metaphors are of such common usage within this community of kindred spirits that I can't really knock them as a signifiers - the words do work as language. But all of the garbage and cartoonishness they pull in by association. Does anyone but me know what a vixen smells like? And bulls? Mean, stupid. And stags in rut don't much like sharing; those antlers are for head-bashing with other stags. Since I can't shake free of those literal associations, the metaphors just don't quite feel right to me.

We're a none of the above as well. Every one has their own interpretation of the lifestyle and things that work or don't work. You can tell form reading enough posts, some are very into the cerebral aspects of the lifestyle, labels, rules and behaviors are all important for them. For us, it's just good ol' sex. We don't need names, labels or any specific dynamics to have fun. Mrs likes variety at times, other times she wants to be with a guy she knows well. In any case they're all "friends" she fucks. Labels aren't turn off, just not something we worry about.
