This is my first post. I have been ‘lurking’ for a few weeks and must say that I have never stumbled upon a site like this. I am grateful that I did. Your thread is the first one that I read all the way through. I have looked through a couple of others now and I am sure that I will be visiting OHW regularly from now on. Very interesting "adventure" you are both having. I've enjoyed reading your experiences. I think the assertion Jane's Husband is making is that it is rare for a wife to actually have a lover's child with her husband's prior consent and blessing. And I think he's probably right! It does happen, no doubt, but not very often.

Usually it is the result of a cheating wife. And even where she did have permission to have a lover (or whatever you want to call him) the pregnancy is usually unintentional. (At least not what the husband intended!)

So what's left over, where the husband consents to his wife allowing herself to get pregnant with a lover, is not at all common.

Of course I don't have any hard evidence on this. I don't believe anyone else does either! That's just how I take what I read here and elsewhere.
