Some changes in our lives seem to be coming soon. I’ll be waiting to see how it works out.

I was out this afternoon getting my wife’s car detailed at the local car wash and running errands at the market when she received a call from her newest guy Weldon. I’m told they talked for more than an hour. Apparently, the two have ironed out any questions either had. She’s now sure this will be an ongoing relationship. When I arrived home and was told about most of their conversation, she asked what I thought about her cutting back on frequency with other guys. I shrugged and said, “Whatever you want is okay with me,” and asked exactly what she meant.

She and Beau have already agreed the sexual part of their relationship needs to come to an end for work reasons. Each has different responsibilities that may conflict from time to time, but Beau and Sherry would remain friends - just without the sexual component. Gigi thinks it would be better if she were seeing just one man and forego the others.

I opined that breaking up with all could be a bit complicated, but she doesn’t think so. She will be seeing Martin sometime this coming week before he is to move back to his hometown. Her boss will be leaving upon his early retirement at year’s end. The others, she says, will be easy and without a lot of explanation to them. The only complicated breakup would be with her boss for all the obvious reasons, so that won’t end until December when he and his wife move away. She says Weldon would then be her only “regular” friend and she truly loves the sex with him.

I agreed that if that’s best for her, I’m on board with whatever she wishes to do. I had already told her I’m looking forward to meeting Weldon and she says that will come about soon. She plans to invite him to our home at least half the time and stay overnight at times at his place. She will talk with her other guys if and when phone to get together. I’m sure she can come up with some understandable excuses; many women go through breakups and most are friendly partings. Guys like our insurance agent or her occasionally-used auto mechanic will remain friends and we will remain their customers. She added, “Heck, I see no reason not to remain social friends with any of them if they wish. The only difference is that they and I won’t be having sex.”

Maybe I’m wrong but told her I didn’t really believe she would be satisfied with just one other man. Her view is that it makes her life less complex. It hasn’t been easy over the years to keep our marital arrangement a secret from others. At times, that has taken a lot of planning and has resulted in a few close calls at times. Her principal reason, she says, is that discretion is increasingly becoming more important and having just one other man in her life will make her life easier than it would be otherwise. I’m less confident she can keep to that plan. It will be a major change for her in my opinion. Either way, as long as she likes whatever she prefers, I’m sure I’ll like it.

She laughed when I said, “It’s hard for me to imagine no other dicks in you other than Weldon’s and mine.” She responded that I might be right about that, but she’s flexible if she needs to change plans; she said, “Depending on the goal, I can run from any direction.” I thought that was a good way to say it. I offered an alternative that she might consider swinging. She isn’t against it but, considering her work position, she thinks that could be socially risky. Maybe it is, but it isn’t entirely out of the question. We have each learned things change in this way of life, and she’s willing to change with the circumstances.

Ok, all of that sounds interesting and promising for you both. As far as Gigi thinking about dropping all but Weldon and you, I think she is now already thinking like the new CEO of the bank. And although I didn’t mention it in that write-up, that’s her reason for the change in her plans. You were insightful when you first wrote that. The title, though, as used at her place of employment - rather than CEO - is chief operating officer or COO, alternatively referred to as “president.” I’m unsure why that’s chosen by the board or whoever first introduced it as other than chief executive officer, but I’m told that’s been the official tile for at least decades.

I agree swinging away from our area seems a good idea and have mentioned that. Her reaction was a shrug and comment that it’s not out of the question and, “We’ll see as time goes on.” For now, it seems the only guy ongoing will be Weldon after her boss retires. More than once in the past, she has considered cutting back, but it didn’t last. That’s my reason for having some doubts. I have learned that isn’t easy now that she is accustomed to a variety of guys, but maybe this time it’s for real. It seems that way. I don’t understand this overly sensitive worrying about the increased visibility of a CEO, or COO, or high level executive. Within your particular place of employment, perhaps, especially if it is a relatively small office. Inter office relationships especially among married people is professional suicide. In large offices, or those with large foot prints, it’s easier to pull off.
In the community at large I find this hard to believe. In all my years I couldn’t tell you who was the president, or the executive in charge.
However if you live in Mayberry, then it’s understandable.
If you live an ostentatious lifestyle that draws attention to yourself, then it’s understandable.
Within your gated community or private country club where everyone knows everyone else’s business, then it’s understandable.
But to John and Jane Q Public I’m sure they have no idea who your wife is, what she does, or who she’s fucking on any given day.

Mundyman, I can understand your comments and partially agree. The first thing that is important to your comment is that they don't live in a large metro city where everyone is a stranger and the executives of high profile businesses are largely unknown. I don't know where they live but Des has described their city in a lot of his posts. It is, I think, a moderate sized city in an area that is mostly rural in nature outside of the city itself. In a smaller city such as theirs, people know each other, especially in the business world. Those in business have to protect their images of the businesses as well as the leaders of the business. In these cities, competition is still strong and having a bank president found to have "different" sexual practices is a big deal. Something like that can cause some businesses to not do business with that bank and consequently a lot of private banking customers would back away, not to mention the congregations of the local churches whose religious leaders would not speak well of a bank president in that position. Although there may not be a big drop in business, the Board of Directors will certainly take a lot of heat from the business world causing a bit of a black eye on the bank. That would surely cause the president to be called in for a "show cause" hearing before the Board. If it got to that level it would surely result in a dismissal from employment. There is a great diversity in how this is viewed in the larger metropolitan cities and the smaller cities in the rural areas of the country.

So that is my explanation of why my comments are relevant in her situation now and going forward. Yes, I have lived in just a city for a large part of my career and can assure you this kind of thing would be a huge gossip topic throughout the business community in their city.

In these local banks, the execs are usually well known community members. Negative press would get them removed by the board of directors. It's common in smaller town america.

Got to remember, big dicked Bossman will still be in the picture until he moves away, if I understand it correctly. Our town is large enough not be considered a small town, but the attitudes and lifestyles among most here could be compared to that of Mayberry. I would like adding more to description, but we have been careful not to include enough to identify our city.

I also am somewhat dubious, Tracey. She has said that before, but it didn’t last long. I mentioned to her my suspicion that she will come up with ways to discreetly see at least a few other guys. She laughed at that and said, “We’ll see,” but she doesn’t think so - at least for now.

Unless you count a month or so between guys at times, that hasn’t happened since the night she agreed with me that she should date other men. That was more than seven years ago, about two months past her 28th birthday. At times, she has said her boss might become her only other relationship, but that didn’t come about either. Some here have messaged me how many guys have now fucked my wife. I lost count long ago, and her guess is far different from my own.

She has considered settling down with just one other guy in the past but, other than her determination never to engage in anything illegal, she doesn’t like limitations on her freedom. In her view, sexual freedom falls roughly into that category. But she doesn’t quite see it that way when it comes to me. To keep our marriage happy and secure, which is among the matters of greatest importance to me, I have somewhat less freedom. I can live with that.

The first thing that is important to your comment is that they don't live in a large metro city where everyone is a stranger and the executives of high profile businesses are largely unknown. I don't know where they live but Des has described their city in a lot of his posts. It is, I think, a moderate sized city in an area that is mostly rural in nature outside of the city itself. In a smaller city such as theirs, people know each other, especially in the business world. Those in business have to protect their images of the businesses as well as the leaders of the business.
