Interestingly, i felt like getting back into the gym as fast as possible helped me recover from covid faster both times I have had it. My wife, who also a fitness fanatic took longer to get back to working out and the fatigue seemed to linger. It lingered both times until she got back to the gym.

Sorry for the late update, had a great weekend but forgot Monday and Tuesday I had to cater to some clients that came into town.
