It’s quite elementary for security purposes to use a browser or browser plugin that shows the hidden data embedded in what people post. Photos and videos are common carriers of spyware, data collection & tracking code etc., And for me personally it’s nice to know if people are posting things that aren’t what they are represented to be.

Sometimes I let people know that they have accidentally posted identifying information.

In your case, I thought maybe you and others who are sharing in your strange mystery, now you know a bit more about what you just posted and can add that knowledge to your puzzle.

If the pictures are dated to 2018 then they are not recent pictures and do not match the writers story. It just brings into question the authenticity of the entire thread.

I have experience in Eastern Europe and when they pointed out the Crimea thing, I looked at it based on the furniture, etc, and was like oh my God it’s totally that area of the world.

I don't think there was anything shocking or misleading about the area of the world, given the OP's several references to what time it was there. Based on that I had already assumed somewhere like Russia/Ukraine.

It wasn't our job to figure that out, per se, but the timestamp thing was fairly damning when combined with the member's apparent inclination to make shit up - as noted above re: his previous posts.

It had occurred to me that his older posts were fantasy, and that this thing here was really happening now.

But it was a very obvious cheating narrative, and his ignoring/waving away of the warnings of concerned members suggested to me that it was yet another fantasy posing as real.

Posting pics is usually what undoes these fellows eventually, though we've no reason to assume that they weren't pics of his actual lovely wife.
