Are you confusing width and girth.

Girth is the circumference, so 4.5 inches girth is approx 1.5 wide, 6 inch girth is approx 2 inches wide, so not much difference and not that thick.

I am not confusing anything. Girth for me means circumference. Trying to measure width is silly because of the imprecision in trying to measure it.

And you have apparently have little experience of cocks of different sizes. 1.5 to 2.0 inches of width is a HUGE difference.

The easiest way is Width or Diameter × 3.14 for pie

Circumference = Diameter x Pie. Call a cock close to circle for this kind of work.
