English vs US Hotwife couples

I am a long time forum reader from way back in 1994 when the predecessor to this forum was hosted on Bianca's Smut Shack and over the last 30 years, one thing that has always struck me is how similar our lifestyle experiences are despite the huge geographical distance between our countries and the obvious size difference between the UK and the USA. 

For context, we are an island and nowhere in the UK is more than 70 miles from the sea. Mainland Europe is under 20 miles from us and we have a rail tunnel linking us to France, yet our culture is far closer to the US than any in Europe. The HW scene here is starting to become established in swingers clubs with my nearest club holding regular HW nights. I live in-between the major UK cities of Manchester and Liverpool and we have 11 clubs to choose from, all well within an hour's drive for us. There are 4 clubs that we could even take a 20 minute bus ride to if we wanted.

It would be interesting to hear views from couples in the US on how they feel the lifestyle has progressed in your country.

We are from Canada. And I also remember Bianca. We have thought about it but never had the nerve to attend a swingers club. We have found our partners, male, female, and couples through internet sites, and because we live in a large metropolitan area we've not had too much trouble finding "playmates". Also, we only indulge in "recreational sex" half a dozen or so times a year.

We have several times thought the hotwife lifestyle was more common than it really is, or that because sharing is quite normal to us, that is would be equally welcome to other folks. We have approached three or four others over the years, but we were wrong each rime, and it cost us a couple of good friendships.

BTW, pre-covid we visited London several times and loved it.

Your friend was brave to disclose to you that he encouraged his wife to have fun on her business trips, while he had no desire to cheat on her. A lot of men to admit that they are up for swapping, but are afraid that what really rings their bell is for other men to fuck their wives.

I’m American and my HW is British. We’ve been in the lifestyle almost 14 years. Most everyone on both sides of the pond think she is a hot cheating wife and I have no idea

But when she visits the UK, it seems more acceptable there that she dates others (of course I’m rarely with her in the UK. Even has had two different British men who come visit the USA by themselves to visit with her.

For centuries, English was America's dominant ethnicity followed by German. It probably still is.

The British Monarchy is the largest foreign landowner in America.

Americans absolutely Loved Princess Diana. They mourned her passing as deeply as did Britons. Americans love Princess Kate. They followed news of her illness as closely as Britons. Like Princess Diana was, Princess Kate is probably the most admired and famous woman in the world. I admire her grace, charm, humility, and genuine and authentic concern for everyone, rich and poor. The monarchy does not define her. She might define the monarchy. She has ability to play soccer with kids and a hour later appear fashionably attired and greeting the most powerful people in the world.

After America became a sovereign and independent nation, our founders did not want to create a monarchy here, probably because of the British Monarchy's treatment of its American colonies and colonists. If we had a monarchy, I'd hope a person like Princess Kate ran it. Princess Kate is the world's princess just like Princess Diana was the world's princess.

American women love men with British accents.

Probably the most common marriages in America among couples from different countries are British-American. Many American soldiers returned home from both world wars with English wives.

So it should be easy to figure out why our cultures are closely related and nearly identical.

People have been involved in non-monogamous relationships for a long, long time. Different societies vew hotwife/swingers differently but it has gone with or without social approval. I do believe it's more common here in Canada than it once was. When we started we lived in a small city in western Canada. We were the town freaks back in the day. My wife assured me that hotwifing is more popular than reported. People want to avoid judgment and stigma, so they keep their sexual activities closely guarded. We're a prime example. We take every precaution to prevent our kids from finding out that their angelic mom is a bedroom porn star.

My wife also told me that hotwifing would be more popular than it is if women's husbands were tolerant and supportive.

Based upon what I've read, my wife was correct on both.
