Sensation Seeking Traits and The Hotwife Husband

Some time ago I read an article about hotwifing written by a psychologist who proposed that husbands who pursue hotwifing often have strong “Sexual Sensation Seeking” (SSS) traits. Google’s simplified description of SSS is “a personality trait that is defined as the tendency to prefer exciting, optimal, and novel levels of stimulation and arousal.”
The psychologist who wrote the article didn’t cite any research to back up his assertion, so I suspect it was largely an anecdotal opinion based on the fact sexual risk-taking is a common trait of people prone to sensation seeking.
I never heard of sensation seeking traits and when I investigated it a bit, seemed very plausible. Based on simple descriptions, I could see many examples of sensation-seeking behavior in my personal history. But pursuing that curiosity a step further, I couldn’t find any online test instruments specifically for gauging ‘sexual sensation seeking’ traits. I did, however, find several online tests focusing on Sensation Seeking traits in general (which encompasses a much broader range of behavior), and sure enough I ranked high or high-average in most domains.
My hypothesis today is that high SS traits don’t necessarily make us prone to being turned on by hotwifing or cuckoldry, but they may be a distinguishing characteristic between those of us who only fantasize about it and those of us who actively pursue it. It may also explain why hotwifing is so euphoric and addictive for many of us once experienced for real. And I suspect it could also be an accelerating factor for those who pursue dangerous fetish paths like encouraging one’s wife to move in with her boyfriend or flirting with situations where one could possibly lose one’s wife altogether.

As an important point, when you post your results, please share a brief description of your experience with hotwifing. Are you or have you actively engaged in our kinky sport? If not, would you jump at the opportunity if presented, but maybe are in a situation where that’s not currently possible (e.g., uninterested wife, no wife, etc.)? Or do you fantasize about it, but hesitate for some reason (e.g., personal insecurity, relationship too insecure, view the danger as too risky, etc.)?
As a last question, for those who have engaged in hotwifing or cuckoldry, do you feel the activity and the feelings you get from it (e.g., euphoria, etc.) are an addiction for you?

NOTE ABOUT THE TEST INSTRUMENT & DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SSS AND SS TRAITS:
I do see some potential flaws in using the Sensation Seeking Scale, SSS-VI and SSS-V for this purpose. Both tests examine a broad range of sensation seeking behavior and don’t give extra weight to sexual activities. Although I ranked somewhat high/higher-than-average on both tests, I could be an outlier in our community. I imagine there are many husbands on OHW willing to engage in sexually risky behavior that would never think of parachuting out of a plane or climbing a mountain. But I do suspect, those of us who actively pursue hotwifing rank higher in SS traits than the average person.
