But, when you ask to see his 709 posts, you get a message of "No suitable matches were found".
If you click on his link in his sig, you get a message of "The requested topic does not exist".

John Jasson, last active Friday Oct 25. But a search of his posts shows no record of his story. And if you click on the link in his profile to "Our crazy journey" you get a message of "You are not authorised to read this forum".

The last time this happened, it was because the thread was getting so many hits it was causing accessibility issues for the whole forum. The assumption is that it was linked in a thread somewhere that is a very high traffic web page. Admins made it 'private' for a few weeks and the number of hits returned to normal. So, they were able to make the thread public again. The difference is, last time admins told y_guy and forum members what was happening. This time, nobody is telling anyone what's up. It's possible that it's a glitch related to the fix they used before, or that a return of the previous situation occurred, so they made the thread private again. They haven't said.
I'm sure we are all hoping that y_guy is having some grand adventures and that we will all get a chance to hear about them.

Technically, AFAIK it was because the number of 'views' (16 million or so) exceeded the maximum value the site's database could store (for an individual thread). A7 had to reset it.

When popular threads disappear, and the error says "You are not authorised to read this forum" it is generally because the mods have 'hidden' it by moving it to a private forum that the rest of us can't access. "The requested topic does not exist" sounds more like it's actually been deleted.

Either way, usually it's because the OP requested it.

It's easy to send a PM to the moderators and admins. Click on "Private Messages" in the top right corner of the page, then click on the "usergroups" tab, and you'll see all their names and you can compose a message to them there.

I asked Y_Guy by writing a DM and he told me that he actually dosn`t know what happened to his thread. He asked the admins and they
don`t know either. He didn`t delete it and it according to the admin it can`t be found in the trashcan of the forum.

But they found a corrupt version and try to restore it, but this already is lasting for a while so restoring it is probably not possible anymore.

So it has nothing to do with the already happened problems like to many views and it is not hidden in a private forum, as leggysman already wrote. Y_Guy didn't ask for any cancellation.

We will see what the admins can do to bring back one of the most interesting threads around here.

I did the same as Gruenberg and sent Y_Guy a PM and asked him what the current status is.

He answered that his post is gone and that the admins can`t restore it. He is sad about this, because it was fun to write about Anna`s adventures and to share it with us. He said that he got so much positive feedback.

He is reluctant to start a new thread because the evolution of Anna in the past five years is gone and you can't read about it anymore.
He also wrote that he was amazed from the amount of feedback from readers that started reading just recently and that they had the opportunity to
get to know Anna step by step. That was maybe the special thing about the thread. He also said that he doesn`t have the time and the energy to recap this past five years for readers who would start at this point.

He also hinted that there happened some things with Anna the past week.
