This reminds me of one time SW sat on a man's lap, say five or six years ago.

We were at a wine tasting event, a rather involved one and we'd traveled there with her niece as our guest. It was an overnight affair, too far to consider driving home.

As the main tasting event was coming to a close, we'd all had quite a bit of wine, and we reminded ourselves that we needed to revisit one of the tasting booths that merited repeat visits; the Grgich Hills.

After visiting with the staff at the booth and making small talk with them to encourage refills, the conversation turned to the founder, Mr. Mike Grgich. He is from Croatia (!!) and is famous for putting Napa wines on the map back in 1976. He is also known as a bit of a ladies' man, at least back in the day. At least that's what we'd said.

The head person running the tasting booth smiled and said that he's still a ladies' man and, as a matter of fact, he is sitting right over there (gestures about 10 yards away). We turned and saw an older man sitting in a wheelchair, seemingly waiting for someone to tell him the event is completed and wheeling him out. He was sporting a dark blue beret on his head.

SW got a mischievous gleam in her eye and asked if it would be okay to go greet him. I think she realized she had played into their trap, but decided to take charge of it.

She grabbed her niece's hand and they walked over to the gentleman, big wine smiles, etc. I'm sure he's seen this a million times. He suddenly sparked a newfound energy and engaged in conversation. After a bit, I joined them and then suggested a photograph. He gladly agreed, and SW beckoned her niece to join and kind of half-sit for their faces to be at the same level for the photo. The niece hesitated, so while SW was kind of squatting next to Mr. Grgich and a bit off balance (she almost certainly was wearing heels), he corralled her into his lap! She played along and posed for the image(s), and after a bit of time indicated to him that she was ready to return to her standing position. He replied "No you're not, I'm taking you with me!" and held on for dear life.

A few years later, we were on a cycling trip in Croatia, and being presented some Croatian wine pairings over a lunch at a farmhouse. They were extolling the local wines. We asked if they had a favorite label that was not theirs, and they noted Grgich. Turns out that he'd started a winery property in his homeland of Croatia. SW chuckled out loud and mentioned that we've met Mike Grgich. Our hosts gave each other that look of "yeah right, these Americans, NO WAY." I was quick enough to scroll through the images on my camera and, sure enough, found them and essentially sidetracked the balance of the presentation because our hosts were incredulous and insisted on showing all their staff the images!

SW and I had chuckled after the in-person encounter with Mr. Grgich that she really woke him up compared to how he looked when we first saw him that day. She was happy to make his day on that occasion.

Slenderfish, what a great story! If I recall correctly, Mike Grgich recently passed away. I believe that he was a true pioneer in the California wine scene. When everyone else was cultivating red wines, he decided to do Chardonnay in a big way establishing his brand as one of the truly great Chardonnays along with perhaps Cakebread Cellars. Again, thank you for that wonderful recounting.

Not a cuck couple and no jealousy involved but that would definitely be a huge turn-on for my wife and me should the opportunity arise. Sometimes the biggest turn-ons occur unplanned and with such spontaneity.
