Rule 2.1) Thou shalt not call out another user for well written fiction presented as fact. At the very best it is rude. If you don’t believe a “true story” is true just move on to the next thread or keep your trap shut. Yes, I appreciate a true “true story” as much as the next guy, but so much of this lifestyle is unbelievable to the common man that it is ridiculous for any of us to make grand pronouncements about the writings of another. Such pronouncements interfere with the flow of thoughts around here and may make newbies hesitant to post. Result? I’ve fucking had it with this BS. I *will* be looking to make an example out of somebody. Get it?
If you absolutely have proof that a thread is fake then flag that post and provide admin your proof so they can check it out.

Someone's photo being on another site is many things--odd, suspicious, etc. But it is not proof of anything.

This 100%. The rules are there for a reason, and they've led to this community being pretty active and vibrant for almost 20 years now. Some people do their "due diligence" and are genuinely interested in calling out fakes (and I think leggysman falls into this category). But there are others who just like to snipe and scoff. We've all seen it: people calling posts fake simply because it seems implausible to them, and then a good thread goes quiet or turns into a pointless argument. If we stop enforcing this rule, that kind of thing will become way too common.

The rule quoted by BeingInTheWorld above has worked well for a long time. If you have real evidence, report to the admins. The button is right there on every single post. Please don't call people out in the thread.

I did discover this thread a couple of weeks ago. I just found out why it was not updated. So I guess we will see if he comes back or not.

I do believe that there have been threads here that had the stories being real but for some reason the pics posted were not. There was one I followed that fit this category a number of years back. The narrative was totally believable but the pics were fake. So the story came to an end at that point.
