10 things "my husband is coming back soon" might mean

So I'm thinking from a situation of my own experience as a bull hitting on a woman in public for the first time. You walk over to her start a conversation and early in the conversation she says, "my husband is coming back soon" or something similar to that. I used to think that was a rejection, "no thank you I'm not interested." Now I've realize it CAN have different meanings. Often time that means something besides being faithful in her marriage is on her mind. If she is a completely loyal woman with no wandering eye usually she won't say anything and when her husband comes back she will introduce you. That's when she is really saying, "no thank you."
If it's at a bar or a party her husband went to the bathroom, stepped out to smoke or whatever the situation might be. Often her saying that is often an invite not a rejection. Before I get all the hate comments and disagreeing how wrong I am I this isn't a hard set fast rule all women mean. In my personal experience I've found that it CAN mean different things. Here's a few possible secret meanings behind that phrase:
1). I'm giving you a timeline so work your magic quick and get my number before he sees it.
2). I don't trust myself to be tempted by you
3). I love dom men who don't give a shit and this is giving you a test to see how easily scared off your are.
4). I want you to really want this and not be scared by the fact I'm married.
5). More than just a friendly hello is on my mind with this introduction. "I'm tempted by you so I'm bringing something up that normally wouldn't warrant that kind of immediately explanation." If a woman came up and started talking to her would she say that to the woman?
6). I want my husband to see another guy hitting on me. It will make him jealous and he gets horny when he's jealous and it will make our sex great.
7). Watch for other clues that go with that. Are there more"we" or "I" statements in there. A married woman that says, "I live out of town a little ways." "I am going on vacation next week" is saying she wants some independence.
8) They could be swinger, hotwife, 3 some, laying some ground work. I don't want to debate stats because they are so variable but one I've often heard 15% of married couples are in open relationships. I would guess at least twice that have at least had the conversation and toyed with the idea but just have never really moved forward with it. So there might be as much of a 30% chance this could lead to something sexual with the husbands permission.
9). My husband is a jealous asshole and he's going to be pissed if he sees me talking to another guy. So please leave.
10). Ok "My husband coming back soon" sometimes does in fact mean, "no thank you I'm not interested."

I think you are right haha. Indeed, I think that guys need not think that a woman unreachable just because she has a boyfriend or husband. It is impossible to know what kind of arrangement they may have in their partnership/marriage without engaging her in a dialogue. Then, like you rightly point out, statements made can often have different meanings, from playful to factual. I had a few periods in my relationships when my girlfriend and wife would definitely have welcomed attempts.

Or, 12). "Fuck off, creep. Just because I'm alone for a few moments doesn't mean that I'm desperate for any old jerk to come and 'chat me up' ".
That one isn't aimed at the OP, as I've no idea of what he's really like.

That wasn't aimed at you. Or anyone else. It was just another example of a possible response. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
I think, in real life, you should just take the actual response at face value, and not try and 'interpret' it.

That's what I meant by number 10......... This post wasn't really about women rejecting. It's about finding what can sometimes be a hidden meaning in a statement. Generally woman like guys to be a little persistent if they have any interest at all. If they do they want to be left alone. It's a fine line of being persistent but not being creepy.

Yes, my no. 12). variation was just more forthright.
I agree with what you said about it being a fine line to tread.

Could it mean “my husband is coming soon so let’s wait so he can see you take me from the start.”

For me….
“I’m married” = Buzz Off!
“My husband is coming back soon” = I’m willing to listen, but get to the point so I can make some kind of assessment here.

man I think you are on to something about -what's it really mean?
My wife works with a guy on the shipping dock about every day. One day he says they should have sex. So he's a bit more direct haha.
She told me that night and well yes I got hard as hell. She told him I'm married ! You're married!
So that was a rejection of a sort, and later I got to thinking why didn't she just say No ?

It's not something that applies to everybody. But most women (51% or so) if they have no interest whatsoever will either say "no" or just won't even accolidge this is something they'd even thought about. Saying something like, "my husband is coming back soon" can often show there's some hidden thoughts in her head that go beyond, "no thank you."

You do have me remembering other occasions; with a long term gf, when men
would ask her out (while going with me) she'd tell them I have other plans (for that night).
So once again I was bolstered that she liked me best! but this left the door open for
some other time ?

My wife gets super turned off by anyone who would seem to be intimidated by the fact she has a husband. Fortunately, many men don't care at all.
There was one time, which we both found somewhat funny, about 8 years ago where she met a very attractive Doctor who turned out to be a devout Christian. He actually rebuffed her once he realized that she was married. Ironically, his rejection of her only motivated her all the more. With the help of a few more drinks, she was ultimately successful and they did have sex that same night.
Subsequently, he returned to his religious position on the issue and said that adultery is a sin and that he didn't want to play any part in it any more.
The man was involved in Doctors Without Borders and travelled abroad to do some work. One day, many months later my wife got an e-mail from him saying that he really wanted to see her when he got back; which they did. Although he was still religious, he had been thinking about her a lot and had simply stopped caring about his aversion to "committing adultery". In some ways, corrupting this young Doctor was one of my wife's proudest accomplishments in this lifestyle!

Thanks for sharing. It seems there are different levels of men "caring" if the woman is married. Most men don't care if the husband isn't around and he's reasonable certain he won't find out. A man that will hit on a married woman right in front of her husband without caring is on a different level.
