The only times I’ve had any bleeding was due to insufficient lube. ALWAYS use lube, preferably lube intended for anal play. If you think you’ve used enough, use more. If you’re new to anal play, start with small toys and work up to something more life-like. You can’t just jump into the deep end. You’ll hurt yourself.

Bleeding isn’t normal. It’s not good. You’re either doing something wrong or you have some underlying condition. Either way, don’t keep doing what you’re doing.

I have always used lots of lube.
Never had problem with bleeding- even with big dicks.
Stay relaxed is also key.

If the sex wasn't very rough and enough lube was used, then the bleeding may not be from a tear in the rectum but rather could result from rubbing against hemorrhoids, which can be internal and not obvious. In that case the bleeding should be minimal and not serious. Of course, if it continues or you have any doubts, seeing a doctor is always good advice.

Seconding what momedu said: Most likely this was caused by some abrasive force pressing against the hemorrhoids and therefore shouldn´t be a problem. Depending on your wife´s age, hemorrhoids can start bleeding by passing feces alone. A proctologist can determine whether the source of bleeding is deeper than the hemorrhoids (in which case a colonoscopy is indicated), and, if warranted, reduce the hemorrhoids volume by means of a rubber ligature.

I think it's hemorrhoids also. My wife had bleeding hemorrhoids once before also. Preparation H does work on them.
