I have been asked to make a statement following the tragedy at Frankland Cottage on Sunday 18 May 2025.
I understand that the naked body of Alex Norton has been found at Frankland Cottage and that a drug overdose is suspected as the cause of his death. He has remained a recluse at the cottage, and since the imposition of his community sentence with a condition that he reside at Frankland Cottage under electronic monitoring I have not seen Mr Norton leave his cottage. I suspect that this will be confirmed by digital satellite records.
His conviction for possession and supply of Ketamine may suggest that he continued as a user. I recall that following his arrest at Frankland House, Ketamine was discovered in a safe here. I am aware from my previous occupancy of Frankland Cottage that there is a wall safe behind the mock Rembrandt, although I do not know the combination to open it. May I suggest that this evidential avenue is explored?
