Just curious about active readers preference on here.
I tend to write in first person perspective, with occasional switch of point of view character. Most novel writing tends to be in third person from my experience, but I find it hard to distance myself to do that perspective well. I've been considering writing a new story from that perspective, but I care about the feedback of readers.
Story perspectives- what do you prefer?

Re: Story perspectives- what do you prefer?
Very difficult for me to only select one... that's why I chose the last one...
Probably I would like all of these:
- First person, from multiple points of view broken up by labels
- Second person, with the writer writing as if you are the main character
- Third person, with single character knowledge
- Third person, omniscient persepctive
Great stories!!!

"I tend to write in first person perspective, with occasional switch of point of view character." -> That's about the perfect writing style for me. A first person perspective makes the story much more immersive and intensive! Mainly sticking to the main character is also preferable. However, an occasional switch of the perspective adds much to the story since it makes other characters more transparent and adds a huge value to the atmosphere.

Interesting survey as I have recently started writing a few stories, all be it from a low ability level. Will probably publish on Lit as the genre is not quite in line with this forum.
I think it is hard to define one particle answer as it often depends on what works well for a particular storyline. I went with the First person from multiple points of view as this gives the author the ability (if they wish to) to tell all from different characters.
Though another here, who would suggest, an occasional switch of perspective (with a note) can help keep stories interesting and more real.
