Wife has had a triangle and a christina. Christina is only for looks and since a surface peircing it can reject like one. Triangle had to come put for hysterectomy but it was amazing. I agree it is personal preference. We have never had a problem with any of the issues you mention and my wife has had a VCH piercing for years. I do under the supervision of my Dr since 2017, after my menopause I started with Estrogen and now I wear a Testosterone patch, I also use cream directly on my clit, so I never had hot flashes, nightmares, bone loss, and loss of libido. My advice is if you feel any of these symptoms after menopause seek a a good Doctor that can diagnose you, I never had any side effects like hair/acne voice change, the only side effect was a increase on my clitoris which to me is ok it makes me much more sensitive and horny all the time.
