Your cautions are well taken. I do realize I have a natural tolerance for risk and have, over the years, had to remind myself that it can be disastrous if not properly monitored. I have had a few disasters, let's be sure. It's the old risk-reward balance and sometimes (for example, in the case of electrical work) in my haste I overlook the point. I do have more such work to do over the next few weeks, and will be certain to turn off the breaker switch at the box in advance.

So we did go out of state last Friday and were cutting it closer than planned for the flight (the usual reason) and therefore I dropped SW and Ms. I at the curb to check SW's bag, while I parked the car and circled back around to go through security in my fast lane, etc. The plan to meet at the gate.

I did make it to the gate just as our boarding group was about to be called (whew!) and saw that SW and Ms. I were standing in the boarding line. SW was "holding court" with a couple of guys. One of them looked like Mr. G (her fit, handsome black personal trainer). As I got closer, I saw that he was fully animated and engaged in a conversation with her. I was then able to hear the conversation as I made my way up to them in line. She was telling him how handsome he is, young and fit, and describing some clothes styling he might consider wearing. Apparently he was heading to a wedding or something and needed to get a suit. SW was telling him about a super handsome and stylish man she watches regularly on Fox Sports (she watches Fox Sports??). They were trying to get to the name of the guy. Eventually they came up with his name Emmanuel Acho.

She said to her target, that Acho has obvious guns that bristle under his suit jacket, but that he carries it off so well and she just loves to watch him.

Right about that time, I made the last few steps into the line and Ms. I saw me walking up. She smiled at me and showed her own bemusement with SW's friendly and flirty banter.

SW looked over at me for a second and slightly acknowledged me (just enough) while she was talking. She finished what she was saying, then made reference to me in her conversation and then noted to the guy that I am her husband she was referencing earlier.

They continued to banter until we got to the gate whereupon we got onto the shuttle that took us to the aircraft. She sat next to this guy and I sat with Ms. I. I was thinking of some way to get this guy's number or something for SW, and figured we would have all flight to do so.

But he was on a different flight, off to Oklahoma City. Possibility missed!

At the same time, I know SW did this a) for herself and b) for me.

When I later asked her about Fox Sports she said "of course, I always watch it with Mr. G when with him; we watch what he prefers."

SW has historically avoided black men, not really knowing what to do or to say. Obviously now completely changed in that respect.
