After receiving similar messages for a long time now, I have slowly become aware of how many notice that. I hadn't previously realized anyone cared. On the other hand, a few have complained about the length of my posts, and had I included similar personal information our posts would be even longer.

And, of course, much of our what goes on in our lives doesn't make it in here at all. An example is an event coming up Saturday, August 31, when my wife's bank is holding its first annual gathering for VPs and the securities/investment staff. Her boss dropped by our home last week to talk about that with my wife (no sex) and he mentioned I might find the social dynamics that go on in banks as interesting. I’m on a twenty-minute break with my laptop at the coffee shop across the street from the company office building, so this may be cut a bit short.

I mentioned here on Saturday my wife would be out-of-town on an assignment the first three days of this week. She phoned late last night and we talked for about an hour. Will try to get around to that over the weekend. About the weekend, she plans on driving down Saturday morning around 8:30. Online driving directions say it's a two and a half hour trip. We like that room. I had written here long ago how that came about. We purchased our home at a bargain price from a widow whose late husband had been a defense contractor engineer and had built the home in the early 1960s. The entrance steps lead from a door in the garage, which the contractor disguised as a tool shelf.
