Not really a lot to learn, but there is a lot to which you haven’t been exposed. Really, every one on this board is really at least interested in some pretty ‘out there’ concepts, starting with breaking marital vows. ..................
Hm,
What is someone who believes that "breaking marital vows" is a pretty ‘out there’ concept" doing readin the cuckold forum?
Dear DavidTriState, I suggest you and the others who believes in this start your own thread in the Misc forum.

By out there, i mean not part of mainstream practice, and appreciated and practiced by too few.

Is that something that you have done to make your Jeep mad at you???
As a student with a minor in history, I don't think many will know what that is, unless you have taken an upper level ancient history class for that time frame. But then again, that phrase is known to be used today enough that folks might be looking it up to understand it's implications. And YES, I'm trying to lead some of our fellow readers to look it up!!

Bent_n_Twisted and ShyBiGuy954 and afagehi7,
In the 1950s “Sword and Sandal” movies (Ben Hur, Ten Commandments) were very popular. By the 1970s the genre morphed into “Sword and Sex” movies (and TV): I, Claudius, Caligula, and more recently “Rome” (on HBO in the US).
As someone who learned as much about sex as I did Roman history while watching “I, Claudius” in the 1970s (great orgy scenes) I appreciate historical humor as well as look up skills! (And yes, I do know that I, Claudius started at Augustus’ rule).
Of course this all proves that it takes more to play cuck or Bull or hotwife or cleanup, straight or bi or chambered, than just a nice hard cock or wet pussy or strong tongue-one does have to converse before and after (and sometimes during).

Right. Basically, Roman generals were allowed to have their armies as long as they were far enough from Rome itself. The Rubicon was one of the markers of 'too close'. When Caesar crossed the Rubicon with his army, he was functionally declaring war on Rome. At that point he would be victorious or he would be dead... and if he was lucky he would die in combat, because he would have had a Very Bad Day if they captured him.
Of course, it ultimately didn't turn out well for him anyway.

Airhon,
Kind of like a modern day strongman appointing his rivals as ambassador to get them out of the country. Often they need to have any trips back home approved by the head of state (and to just show up in the capital city one day could be construed as ‘crossing the Rubicon’ and challenging leadership.

Or as we used to say in 49 BC:

The die is cast: yes, if you crossed the Rubicon in northern Italy with an army you were deemed to be attacking Rome, which Julius Caesar was.
Well, what an intellectual place OHW is.

And it's even kind of topical for this site, since Caesar was a noted womanizer who had affairs with many married women (wives of other politicians, rulers, leaders, and so on).

And to go back to the bisexuality issue presented herein, Caesar likely had an affair with Nicomedes and according to one of my history books
he lay on a golden couch dressed in a purple robe, and so this descendant of Venus lost his virginity in Bithynia.

"Every woman's man, and every man's woman."
Though I understand that was a story largely pushed by his political rivals... which doesn't mean it's not true, or even unlikely, but I do question stories where the teller has something to gain from the telling.

May I suggest that those of you with a special interest in Roman History take this discussion elsewhere.
It clearly has nothing to do with this thread.

An interlude discussion while we are waiting for FC’s next post. We could talk about the emperor Claudius marrying his brother’s daughter....or Cleopatra marrying her brother. A bit closer to FC’s plot line.

The Jeep Rubicon models were named after a Jeep trail in the Sierra Nevada mountains which is an exceptionally brutal road. It's named after the river in Italy for the danger of crossing it into enemy territory. Most of the people who own Jeep Rubicons have no idea about the trail or the river.
It all boils down to a description of dangerous territory and/or dangerous behavior, which cuckolding is full of both. There's no reason to get worked up over a metaphor which most people won't understand.
Now that we're all educated about the "Rubicon" we can all move on.

Actually, the Rubicon was the river Caesar crossed, taking his army INTO Rome. Military leaders were not suppose to bring their armies into Rome for obvious reasons. In doing so, Caesar was defying Roman tradition and the Senate, and was the first step in becoming a dictator.

The primary significance of the crossing was it began the Roman Civil War which was the beginning of the end of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire. The step too far can be read into the many aspects of couples sexuality. Good communication is what stops the civil wars! In that way, it is relevant to the cuckold topic. I, too, wish not to hijack this thread but the further development of the discussion spurs me to make this one last comment on the subject.
