We finally finished the Marvelous Ms. Maisel on Netflix and last night SW asked about starting a new series.

Okay, ready to spill the tea from last night.

I'll preface this with my observation several days ago that I have been feeling a bit more energy from SW, reminiscent of last August and her shenanigans with Mr. B. I think this update illustrates it.

I'll also mention that over this past weekend, when she was shaking her head over Mr. E and his now officially dating the "slut" as SW calls her, I noted that some guys really do aspire to having a classy wife for daytime and social endeavors, and a naughty slut at night and in the bedroom.

I used this as a segue into a comment that I still hope and look for SW to start up in her naughtiness. She questioned me for a bit and I was consistent, pointing out that I'm still me and still have this burning desire for her to have extracurricular men. Okay, to the story.

I was out, usual Wed night dance class and the boys' night. SW stayed in, because she had an appointment this morning. I'd assumed she was planning to go to bed early. I recognized this energy and realized I wouldn't be going right to bed, either.

I said "we'll just see, he will at some point come back around" or similar.

She was not willing to wait for him to come around. The wine gave her courage or something, so she called him and texted him and they finally had a live conversation. She found out he has recently broken up with his "young" girlfriend, and is somewhat dating again. She told him he has not been a proper friend, that she expects him to pay attention to her visits to their hometown (where he lives) and to make time for her in one way or another. He acknowledged but didn't make a proper apology, so that's still sitting out there. But they have a conversation once again.

She shifted gears and momentarily mentioned Mr. S and what a disappointment he has been of recent months. That she doesn't even know if she'll revisit that one.

I suppose my point here is that she is clearly making an effort toward something. I also suppose we'll have to wait to find out.

SW had a girls' night on Friday and it was just four going out to celebrate the birthday for one of the girls. These are the same girls who were over that night last August when SW quietly invited Mr. B as "one of the girls" and let me believe it was just the four actual girls. Ms. F, Ms. T and Ms. V. As expected, the birthday girl peeled off early(ish) and left the three. I don't usually check up on SW but when the clock showed 12:30 a.m. I did kind of take note. Then 1:00, again not sleeping through it. Mostly because I want to be sure she doesn't try to drive home. Then 1:30. At some point, you pretty much get kicked out of the bar or restaurant. Still nothing.

Finally, a call at 1:45 from SW and her friend, both boisterous and clearly drunk. Apparently, they were able to make it back to the friend's house and they called me to ask if I wanted to drive over (15 min each direction) or if SW should just spend the night. I figured better to let the friend deal with the aftermath, etc. SW did make it back home around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, kind of the "walk of shame" in that she had on the same clothes she'd worn out to dinner, etc. Just in time to change out and meet up with my daughter, take her to lunch and then we all sat and did her wedding planning, and then went to dinner including niece.

So last night (Sunday) I was pulling my stuff together for yet another trip to Dallas for a couple of days, and SW asked if I had time for a "quickie" before trying to sleep. I was going to try and get to sleep a bit earlier in anticipation of the 5:00 a.m. wake-up for the rush to the airport, etc.

We then got busy and started moving along with the love making and, upon my gentle lead-in, I reminded her the men from her past will always come back around. As Mr. M and Mr. S had done over the past few weeks. She said she is done with these guys. I then said something about how rather than get all cranky and cross that she was out so late without any word on Friday, I chose to turn it into a positive. Yes there is latino dancing as a big part of the program there. But the male professional dance instructors at this place are not Rico Suave and the ones who are young enough are gay. The students are generally women and there are some older men.

SW is such a gym rat that she would be better finding guys at the club. We are members of a higher-end club, but with the pandemic that club has been closed. It did open recently but we have not yet reactivated the membership because it is summer and we are training outside for a triathlon that's coming up in a couple of weeks.

Probably will get back to that club in October.

Yes I do get some attention but the talent is not there. One of two of the dance instructors are super hotties but they stay away because of quiet rules among the instructors to not poach each others' clients. I pay for privates each time, which is the most desired for the instructor.

Also, by now everyone has seen SW and it's clear that I'm a devoted husband.

There is one woman who is a known celebrity nationally for her dancing and used to do private classes there. You would recognize her name. She attends the recitals and competitions from time to time as an observer. She has been a bit flirtatious from time to time and always makes sure that her compliments are delivered to me even if via a go-between. My instructor mentioned it to SW once as a kind of "lark" but SW has been attending without fail at all such events ever since that time.

Honestly, I get more attention from the gay male instructors. One or two of them will sometimes be a little inappropriate but I know the culture.

Ha! SW pushes me. She's completed a marathon and signs both of us up for these events, from time to time. I'm strong on the bike portion, totally suck at the swim, and average (at best) with the run. She is strong on the bike and the run.

When we first met, in 2001, I was training for my first triathlon, a longer one. That's why I was in her spin class. It became a bit of a basis and mutual interest for us, from the beginning.

No Olympic dreams for me. Just the active lifestyle, keeping up with SW.
