Update time, and I know it hasn't been long but really it feels like forever. Their date is tonight.

She hasn't said where they're going, all I know for sure is that David is picking her up at 8 and taking her somewhere. "It's a surprise", apparently. Chris, thanks for sharing this experience. For those of us who've been through it in our own ways, it's a quick reminder of those days/times when we were in the "pins and needles" stage of waiting and wondering. At least, that's how it is for me.

And then we are all hoping that it works out, that you are able to restrain yourself and not shake her up with your naturally anxious excitement and energy, and instead just remain cool and supportive. I know this from experience and also from reading others' experiences.

In looking back at my experience, I'm really happy that I was able to retain some of the thrill via actual recordings of her letting me know what happened, etc. In my case, we came up with a compromise. She called me immediately after she or he left the location (depending). I agreed to NOT answer but rather let it go to voicemail. This way, no pressure on her talking to me live, but nevertheless her own words freely sharing.

And the phone call would itself was the signal that she/they had "closed the deal."

Of course, we did reconnect when she did arrive but as in your case, there was a lot of hustle and weariness and getting ready for the day, etc. so it dragged out.

Okay, finally got some time to update the thread. God, I really don't know where to start.

Emily got back at 3pm today. She was wearing the same clothes she went out in, and she came back in giving me this "Wouldn't you like to know" smile when I was asking questions. She said we'd talk about it when she was out of the shower and settled down. (She said 100% nope to strangers and her exes, plus her exes are in the States, so fair enough.)

So we sat on the couch and talked about what happened. She told me she LOVED the bar and would love to go again, and she said they absolutely clicked on a lot of levels though he's more right wing than us. A lot more, apparently. But she said his reasons were really well thought out and he's an amazing communicator, and he was never threatening, just casual about his views. And she said a couple of times he asked her about her views on something and her explanations weren't as good as his, and she felt stupid, but he never poked at it, he actually tried to work out what her thoughts were and why she thought them.

When they were in the car again, they only stayed a couple of hours, he said if she was really hungry, they could do a late dinner, and she admitted she'd just been joking to needle him. And on the way home, he'd taken a different turn than she was expecting, and when she commented on it, he smiled and didn't look at her, and she said he "Did this thing that made it my choice."

So he said, "Do you want to go home?" and Emily said the silence was getting super awkward, and she couldn't think of anything funny or cool to say, and she just kind of said "No."

And David apparently said, "I can tell."

She said he drive most of the way after that with one hand on her bare leg and his thumb circling on her skin.

His house was a pretty long drive, and he lives by a certain wood in London I won't name for obvious reasons, but she said his house was nice. She met his german shepherd (Vincent) who David told her is a retired police dog, and she said he was "extremely freaking adorable" and obeyed all David's commands with no barking or bad behaviour, etc. and she asked if he'd trained Vincent that well, and apparently David sort of laughed and said "I just told you he was a police dog" which she said made her blush that she'd asked something so dumb XD

I interrupted to ask what time it was at this point, and Emily said it was about 11pm when they were in his kitchen. She said David lifted her up to sit her on the kitchen counter and gently moved between her legs. And she said her heart was hammering like mad because obviously "This was it, he was making his move".
